Quarantine and how to keep busy

Since the quarantine started our spring breaks it has been over a month since we have been home. I am thankful to be with my family during this time and we are spending a lot more time together than we ever have since we all live pretty busy lives. Some things I do to not become too stir crazy is FaceTime or Houseparty my friends whenever they are available to talk and we can stay on the phone for hours at a time just virtually hanging out. Additionally, I have been keeping pretty busy with school work as well. When I am not on the phone or doing homework I try to pick up on new hobbies. Recently, I have been brushing up on my cooking skills and trying new recipes that I would have not have had the time to do anyways if I was at Marist right now. Now more than ever I have been active and going on social distance hikes with a best friend from high school. It is important to stay inside but if you do go outside protective measures should be in place also. We always make sure to wear masks and gloves and to stay six feet apart. I think during this quarantine it is an important time to self-reflect and think about life as this is the first and most likely last time that we can be in the house all day and not be doing too much. Even though I am ready for quarantine to end and I don’t like to not be able to do regular things such as going out to eat with my friends or going to the movies I think it is important to stay home out of respect to the nurses and doctors who are working so hard everyday to try to help out affected people.
