Final

For my final project, I decided to use my golden retriever, Carly and film a day in her life. I have been taking my dog on socially distanced beach days with my friend to get some fresh air and get in some exercise for my dog. I take her to a specialized beach just for dogs in my area so I thought it would be an interesting video concept for me to film not just a day in her life but how she interacts with other dogs and how she has fun. For my final project I used adobe premiere, adobe audition, and wordpress. In regards to adobe premiere, I used the platform to insert all of my small videos into one cohesive video and used many jump cuts throughout. I used jump cuts to try to condense the video to fit everything she did that day into a short condensed video. I began to play around with video filters but since my computer is old and crashed when I tried many filters, hence I could not fit many video effects into the final project. Additionally, in Adobe premiere I adjusted the brightness, contrast, and sharpened the video as well as adding a filter to it to bring out the colors of the water and the surroundings. After filters, I added in text for it to become a narration of my dog’s voice. Throughout the video, you can read text box inserts I made to show what she is thinking about and what she wants me to do. I imagined if she could speak she would tell me then wrote what came to mind when watching the clips and seeing her expressions. In Adobe audition, I had to search for many free sound effects to use throughout my video. I started with finding royalty free music to introduce the beginning of the video to give a sense of an introduction to the video. After the opening scene of my dog looking into the water and then running away I began to use more unusual audio. By searching up free sound effects, I used aliens interacting audio in a scene where she is playing with another dog. I also used audio that matched what actions she was doing. For example, in the scene where she is falling asleep in the car I took audio free audio of a man snoring and put into the video to make it seem like she was the one who was snoring. After I got all of my sound effects timed perfectly in adobe audition, I then exported the file back into premiere and tweaked it to fit into the video. After the video editing and sound effects were done I uploaded my video onto youtube then added it to my wordpress site under my final project tab. Overall, this final project was fun to make and I got to incorporate a lot of the skills I learned from this semester into one cohesive final video project.
